Friends,
Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream has been elegantly adapted/ translated into Sanskrit as वासन्तिकस्वप्नम्  and published in 1892. The text is available here:
The first two lines pose great difficulty for me with respect to अन्वय and meaning.
Could any of our learned members kindly help?
Regards
T K Gopalan

You have interesting finds, thank you !
If you are able to find many Sanskrit plays, etc that must have been adapted for Sanskrit learners in the last couple of centuries, that would be great.

I read classical works, plays mainly, with word for word English or Hindi or Sanskrit translation. Even there, sometimes I do not struggle too much with the verses with which the conversations are interspersed. There are many plays with such translations available in the internet archive.

Is padacheda ok for you,sir?

Thank you very much, Mohan.
I had written for the second half of the verse

हृद्याः श्यामवनश्रियः नवमालिकादिकुसुमैः रम्यैः मधुस्यन्दिभिः आत्मनां सर्वेषां अमितमुदं संपादयन्ति।
i.e. आत्मनां and सर्वेषां together. Is that okay?
2) The anvaya of the first half as given by you is logical.
3) It only remains to know the meaning of अलयः,  हृद्याः, श्यामवनश्रियः। could you help here?
Regards
Gopalan

Respected Sir
I think that सर्वेषाम् आत्मनाम्  will sound better in the अन्वयः meaning - of all
हृद्याः - appealing to the heart
अलयःbees
श्यामवनश्रियः the beauty of the dark green forests
