namaste,

I found the following transliterate tool quite useful.

SANSCRIPT (
 South Asian Network Software Conferring Relatively Immediate Phonetic Transliteration!

)

is by far the simplest and most excellent transliterator for practical use--and I've tried them all.
   Not only is it multilingual, it works with both iTrans and HK. And it has buttons to connect to many Sanskrit resources.
   If you mark it as a Favorite it is easily found.
   NB: it is a new device, so you will not yet find it on google, but the above URL will get you there.
   Thanks for the tip, RU!

Respected Abhyankarji and all others who have been contributing to the forum,
I wish to convey my deepest thanks toi all of you.
I have been following Abhyankarji's emails with special attention. He writes only in sanskrit and that is what makes the email so much more interesting - to read, and to figure out the meaning.
If some of the learned people on the forum could start writing in sanskrit about- any one topic - maybe thier professional area, or news, we all could benefit by getting first hand knowledge of spoken / conversational  sanskrit.

A friend of mine, Shreevatsa, wrote a nice Javascript transliterator that I use frequently:

The feature I like best about this is that it allows entry simultaneously in multiple schemes, and it's real-time. Check it out!
