Dear Ramesh,

Do you know the word  ब्रह्मन् has got several meanings? ब्रह्म चरतीति ब्रह्मचारी is the derivation of the word. Now depending on the meaning required in the context the word is used, it may change its meanings, in ब्रह्मचारिन् as the context demands.

It is the 1st of the Ashrama, before गृहस्थाश्रम.

ब्रह्मचर्य is one of the यम-s, and exlained as the controll of generials.

and the result of this ब्रह्मचर्य is explained as:

Celibacy, s.
-विवाहः; ‘he led a life of c.’

ब्रह्मचारिन् means a bachelor, before getting married. in geneal.

Hope this makes sense.
