हन्+घञ् → घातः 

by what sutras ह changes into घ and न् changes into त्?

Could you kindly explain by what steps this explanation was extracted from astadhyayi.com. I too have the app but do not know how to use it this way.

Select हन् dhatu and select कृदन्त in the drop down menu. Select घञ् and touch the word घात
