The 16 characteristics of a Purna Avatar

Please help me with all the 16 kalas of a ' Poorna Avatar'.

I also need the scriptural references.

Secondly, I want scriptural references to Katana Brahman and Karya Brahman.

I don't know about 16 kala-s of a "Purnavatar" as you have heard. Please provide the definition of a Purnavatar as you know with scriptural reference as you have asked us in turn. I know only one in छान्दोग्य उपनिषत् ---

षोडशकलः सोम्य पुरुषः पञ्चदशाहानि माशीः काममपः पिबापोमयः प्राणो नपिबतो विच्छेत्स्यत इति ॥ १ ॥

स ह पञ्चदशाहानि नशाथ हैनमुपससाद किं ब्रवीमि भो इत्यृचः सोम्य यजूँषि सामानीति स होवाच न वै मा प्रतिभान्ति भो इति ॥ २ ॥

​It is only referring to Sixteen Kala-s of पुरुष. ​

Here is another description of the same पुरुष beoming पूर्ण in the अमाब्राह्मण of काठकब्राह्मण ---

षोडशकलः पुरुषो लोमेति द्वे अक्षरे त्वगिति द्वे असृगिति द्वे मांसमिति द्वे स्नाय्विति द्वे अस्थीति द्वे मेद इति द्वे मज्जेति द्वे ताः षोडश संपद्यन्ते स एष षोडशकलः पुरुषः सोमस्य तस्य वसवः पञ्च कला अभक्षयन्त पृथिवीं पात्रं कृत्वा तेऽमृतत्वमकामयन्त तेऽमृतत्वमजयंस्ततो वे तेऽमृतास्तृप्ताः प्रीता अभवंस्तस्य रुद्राः पञ्च कला अभक्षयन्तान्तरिक्षं पात्रं कृत्वा तेऽमृतत्वम-कामयन्त तेऽमृतत्वमजयंस्ततो वे तेऽमृतास्तृप्ताः प्रीता अभवंस्तस्यादित्याः पञ्च कला अभक्षयन्त दिवं पात्रं कृत्वा तेऽमृतत्वमकामयन्त तेऽमृतत्वमजयंस्ततो वे तेऽमृतास्तृप्ताः प्रीता अभवन्नेका कलोदशिष्यत तां प्रजापतिः सिनीवाल्या अददात्तयेह पशुषु वनस्पतिष्वोषधीषु चामावसद्यदमावसत्तदमावस्याया अमावस्यात्वम् तया प्रातर्ददर्श यद्ददर्श तद्दर्शस्य दर्शत्वं तं देवा यागत आप्यायिताः पुनरप्याप्याययन्त स पूर्णः पौर्णमासीमुपावसत्तत्पौर्णमास्याः पौ-र्णमासीत्वं तस्मादाहुर्दर्शपूर्णमासयाजाईंँ!  ल्लोकानभिजयन्नेति सोमस्य सार्ष्टितां सायुज्यं सलोकतामाप्नोति य एवं विद्वान्दर्षपूर्णमासाभ्यां यजते 

  इति अमाब्राह्मणम्  

Prashnopanisht ६.१ has the one question regarding this 16 kala-s of the Purusha_ 

अथ हैनं सुकेशा भारद्वाजः पप्रच्छ ।

भगवन् हिरण्यनाभः कौसल्यो राजपुत्रो मामुपेत्यैतं प्रश्नमपृच्छत ।

षोडशकलं भारद्वाज पुरुषं वेत्थ ।

and reply was ----

तस्मै स होवाच ।

इहैवान्तः शरीरे सोम्य स पुरुषो यस्मिन्नेताः षोडश कलाः प्रभवन्तीति  ॥ ६.२ ॥

The above is the sriptural evidence of षोडशकलः पुरुषः and none has षोडशकल - Purnavatar.

I also need the scriptural references.

Secondly, I want scriptural references to Katana Brahman and Karya Brahman.

​I don't know any Katana Brahman, but only कारणब्रह्म and कारणब्रह्म, but do not have any scriptural evidence quoting these as such. It would be better, first you pose your question with scriptural reference where you find these two terms and ask other to give the scriptural reference to their replies. Here is the concept:

 कार्योपाधिरयं जीवः कारणोपाधिरीश्वरः । 

कार्यकारणतां हित्वा पूर्णबोधोऽवशिष्यते ॥ १२ I 

शुक-रहस्य उपनिषद् and some more references you can find on the web pages if you search.

My question was about Karana Brahman and Karya Brahman-Scriptural reference; this is what I intended knowing for the purpose;

 

Krishna Avatar is Purna Avatar- but in the description about his 16 Kalas, I find: there are different type of explanation; hence I wanted the help of the scholars of  this group.

 

Bhat Mahodaya!! can you also give the meaning of the verse (Purusharth-'shodasakkala purusho.....) given in English

​If you give the clear reference of Bhagavata Purana, if you have referred to it as scriptural description you had found,​ the commentaries give different explanations on the verse or the reference. Otherwise you can give yourself the references where you found those his descriptions so that others also could know them.

You asked for scriptural references and I have given. You can read any translations of them and get their meaning.  I am not going to try myself to translate. Or you can refer to any Bhashya or commentaries on them ether in Hindi or the language you know.
