sahasra parama devi shatamoola shataankura

sarvam haratu me papam doorva duswapna nashani.

सहस्र परमादेवी शतमूल शताङ्कुर ।

सर्वं हरतुमे पापं दूर्वा दु:स्वपन नाशनि ।।

I came heard this shloka, in a pooja in youtube, I could not understand the meaning of दूर्वा here. In the video on youtube, after this shloka he told to put "durva grass" at deity's feet.

How does durva grass fit in this shloka

Can the learned scholars comment here, and if there is any typo in the shloka I pointed out please correct me.

Please also provide the complete meaning of the above verse as well.

This piece of Mantra is from Durva Sukta. Durva means the grass. Other
details, our learned scholars would provide.

I don't find any objection in taking the word दूर्वा in the verse above to offer दूर्वा grass and can't imagine how you find any in the verse. It is a matter of practice in worship which cannot be obtained by learning Grammar and Sanskrit Language only, which "mantra" should be used in a specific ritual act.

Any how as the name suggests it is the praise of दूर्वा grass and the description fits properly to the दूर्वा grass. The first 3 verses are found in महानारायणोपनिषत् -

Anyhow I do not know about the particular use of the दूर्वा grass. You will better to refer to any commentary available on the portion to the use of specific "mantra" as I am not good at Vedic Sanskrit. Or some other member adept at the Vedic rituals would explain the meaning in the highlighted portion, except which the remaining stanza-s are simple Sanskrit verses.

I could not see anything of the commentary in the message below.

Sorry.

The first commentary inserted below is of Sri Rangaramanuja Muni (aka Sri Upanishad Bhashyakarar) of the 16th century.

The editor, Sri Uttamur Viraraghavachariar has also provided his comments there.

Another commentary by Sri Kuranarayana Jyar follows. Both are self-explanatory.

Thanks for providing the commentaries on the "viniyoga" of the "mantra" quoted which settles the matter.
