Unadi sutras

Can someone tell me what are the Unadi sutras and why they are such a big issue? I came across a book by Kanshi Ram called 'Unadi Sutras in sanskrit grammatical tradition'. Can someone briefly explain why this requires a separate book of it's own?

[अभ्यंकरकुलोत्पन्नः श्रीपादः | श्रीपतेः पदयुगं स्मरणीयम् ।]

Unadi sutras are actually गणपाठः of the सूत्रम् - उणादयो बहुलम् (3-3-1). Since the सूत्रम् - उणादयो बहुलम् is part of the अधिकारः starting at कृदतिङ् (3-1-93). So, what are detailed in Unadi sutras are कृत्-प्रत्ययाः by which one gets धातुसाधितानि.

Unadi sutras being a गणपाठः is similar to धातुपाठः being the गणपाठः of the सूत्रम् -

भूवादयो धातवः (

१.३.१).
