Title: Rejuvenating Traditional Samskrit Studies and Samskritic Knowledge Systems

Abstract: In this talk, Rajiv Malhotra focusses our attention on the subtle but surely tragic state of affairs of traditional Samskrit Scholarship losing out on its leadership positions in Samskrit and samskrti studies worldover more so in India. Discussing his latest book, Rajiv shows how these scholars can be better informed about the challenges to their efforts without getting to lose out on their roots. He also touches about what responses could be appropriate given these state of affairs.


Bio:
Rajiv Malhotra is an Indian-American scholar and public intellectual on current affairs, world religions, cross-cultural encounters and science. He has been focussing primarily on interventions that challenge and disrupt many assumptions concerning Indian Civilization and its studies.

He has authored widely read books and articles including Breaking India (Amaryllis, 2011), Being Different (HarperCollins, 2011) and Indra's Net (HarperCollins, 2014)
