Hi,

When running the "gradlew setupDecompWorkspace" command on p. 17, I receive the following error:

FAILURE: Build failed with an exception.

* What went wrong:
Failed to notify build listener.

* Try:
Run with --stacktrace option to get the stack trace. Run with --info or --debug
option to get more log output.

I have tried the troubleshooting steps listed in the "Possible Problems" section on p. 17, and I still get this error.

Searching the web, I didn't find any info that tells what to do to solve this problem, though I did find that someone has recently posted a request for help with this error on the Forge forums, here:

Do you know how to fix this issue? Or can you provide any pointers to a resource that will help understand what is going on and how to solve it?

Thanks,

Mike

Hi,

That's a very strange error. I have never seen it before.

One thing that may have caused it is that a lot of files where being moved around on the forge servers the last couple of days. Could you try it again now and see if it works?

That did it. Today I was able to run both the commands on p.17 successfully.

The first time that I ran "gradlew setupDecompWorkspace" today it encountered another error. I then restarted the command prompt as administrator (on Windows 7) and the command completed without any errors.

Thanks for your help Jimmy. I'm looking forward to getting on with the rest of your book now!

I had this same problem and it drove me crazy for hours. My problem was that I had spaces in my Forge folder path (i.e. "Local Disk(C:)"). I renamed the drive LocalDisk and everything worked fine. If anyone else encounters this problem, might want to look into this. Seems to be a quirk with eclipse.
