Important House hearing on Wednesdsy

Dear all
I was invited to testify at the hearing of the House Foreign Relations Committee this Wednesday about "The Humanitarian Crisis in Syria, views from the ground". This is the first time that SAMS is invited to testify in the congress and it is a big deal.
Please let me know what are your recommendations to include in the 5 minutes I have. Other speakers will be from MercyCorp, CARE, Save the Children.

The message should be how the situation is about to get worse as any hope for a political solution is evaporating with the reelection and the opposition loosing ground on every level...
The humanitarian crisis will go into a chronic long term phase.
By the way SAMS was invited to the same cmt last year with some if the same relief agencies and only staffers from the congressmen and congresswomen on the cmt came and took notes...
Hopefully we have a better show from the actual senate cmt members this time

Zaher, there is no doubt you will know what to say.  When we testify in front of congress, the message they need to hear is what their constituents will buy into and support as this is an election year.  They key is to make a link that shows it is in America’s interest to address these issues.  A resolution to the humanitarian crisis will open markets, stabilize local political crises, and validate America’s role as a global leader.  Take advantage of highlighting how America needs to show Russia what it means to be a global leader.

I agree with George, that SAMS has been invited in various ways to testify and present to Congress.  I have to believe that the President of our organization was invited this time because members of congress will be present.  Again, it is an election year and Syria is a resume builder.
