to SAMS Advocacy
 Dear Advocacy members
I attended in a recent conference one of the most powerful presentations by a creative company that works in areas of conflict and transform the conflict into storytelling plays to change the narrative among American Audience.
After he heard my presentation on Syria, the director of the company approached me to do a project on Syria
Dr M. Zaher Sahloul. Please review his proposal and let me know if you are interested. I believe it is a great way to tell the story, change the narrative, attract sympathy and fundraising among the general and targeted audience.
Let us plan to meet sometimes this week as we have some issues to discuss including hiring a new Advocacy director.

Dear Will
Sorry for the delay. I would like to invite you to our next SAMS Midwest annual event in October to present some of your pieces. This is a fundraising event. Meanwhile I reviewed your proposal and I will discuss it with our board of directors. I think Plan B or C is reasonable but I will confirm after presenting your proposal to the board.
My question is after you develop the product, how and where you would perform the plays and who will be responsible for arranging and sponsoring of your engagements, travel, etc.?

Hey Dr. Sahloul,

Hope you are doing well. I just wanted to check in and see how you were feeling about the proposal I sent. Again, I am open to creative options in terms of finding financial support to make this happen. I truly believe we can and will fully support a project like this through creative means if your organization is interested moving it forward.

I would also again be happy to come to Chicago so we can discuss this is person and figure out any potential problems, issues, or changes needed so that the project can maximize impact and results for you organization.

Thanks so much for you time and efforts.

Hey Dr. Sahloul,

It was great talking to you on the phone earlier today. Thanks so much for your time. I have attached a proposal based on our conversation and an addition set of work samples from my previous Middle East and North Africa based projects.

The proposal leaves lots of potential artistic and story-based outcome open and flexible based on your needs. But it is really exciting to hear that you are interested in possibly pursuing a form of theatrical performance. This is something that I agree with complete and have experience creating. I have written and performed two theatrical productions relevant to this conversation, one about the popular movements in Egypt and Tunisia and more recently one that is still in process about Syrian refugees in Kilis, Turkey.

A polished performance that focuses on the powerful stories of the people on the ground will go a long way in supporting SAMS, helping people understand the human impact of the conflict, and emphasizing the importance of your work.

I have broken down some basic expense structures for a project like this in the proposal, but please know that I am dedicated to making this happen and willing to be very flexible. This work is important, and as an artist and a professional storyteller I want to support the work you all are doing regardless of funds. Let me know what works for you all, and I am sure we will find common ground to make this happen.

Thanks so much,
