I would state clearly the following points:
- SAMS is an independent NGO that is following its mission in serving the medical needs of the Syrian people
- we are not political organization and we are not allied with any political party
- we are an American organization that abides by US laws
- we are ready to coordinate with governments and civic council on order to get our medical relief to people in need regardless of the affiliation of those in need
- highlight our tract record and the positive status within the US including our active advocacy ( Dr Katranji can attest to that )
- highlight the fact that we founded ARCS to coordinate among 20 US based organization proving relief in Syria. ARCS spent 110 million dollars on Syria collectively in the last two years
- highlight the successful model at least in the beginning of polio task force where SAMS coordinated with 8 other NGOs including ACI to vaccinate 1.4 million children
- the Eitelaf was absent from the ground throughout the crisis but we welcome them taking positive role in relief as they should have done that from the beginning
- Legally the Eitelaf to us is a foreign entity that can't direct or dictate to us what we should or should not do

Salaam George,

Can they work on helping certifying many residents or medical students who lost their chance to graduate by hooking them up with universities in US or residency programs

Thank you George.

I am planning on joining you then :)

I would suggest you speak about how SAMS can be a bridge between Syrian doctors in the US and thier peers in Syria and how this will not only serve for now such as what we are currently doing for medical releif but also in the future when time comes to rebuild.

I also suggest you mention to them that SAMS is willing to help Iteliaf through our network inside Syria to implement projects related to medical relief at this time and partner with them for what can help the Syrian people.

I might be able to get a private meeting with Mr. Aljarba through some mutual friends. If any special request is warrented on behalf of SAMS board or advocacy committee, I will be happy to discuss it with him should I get to meet him privately.

Thank you.

Tarek.

I agree with Dr. Zaher, keeping a distance from political organizations and marinating the impartial humanitarian image of SAMS will protect SAMS on the long run and improve its appeal  among a larger slice of the Syrian people.

coordination with ACU is fine though coalition like the polio campaign and we should continue, but building a stronger relationship (partnership) might become a source of problems to SAMS in my opinion.

Should we ignore their invitation  alltogether!
I do not have any trust or hope in the Eitilaf ability to help us ..
As an activist i turned down the dinner invite with their leadership yesterday..

I think the message is important to be heard to the other groups and organizations who are present their. That is our civic duty. We have to be objective, measured and non-emotional
