Matt - The web designers have been informed of your problem. The site went live Saturday night, so there are probably a few bugs that need to be worked out.

Everyone - Just a clarification on the new music... The EP's will be released digitally throughout the year to places like Amazon and ITunes, but as a subscriber, you will get them first and you will generally get an extra track or so. Again, the link is http://samphillips.com/thelongplay

I had the same problem - paid by credit card and then heard nothing.
It dropped me back to a log-in page but I haven't been given a
password or anything.

Also... you mean we have to PAY for the music on Amazon/iTunes? After
paying $52 for a subscription?

I got the impression, from what you said, that the $52 covered the
cost of the year's music, which would seem like a reasonable (almost)
kind of deal. But if I have to pay extra to download the tracks I
won't be too thrilled!

I mean, I'm a big fan but $52 just for the privilege of getting the
tracks early and an "extra track or two" is not exactly value for
money. My wife will tell me I've been "had".

Hey DC,

No, you don't pay extra. You download the tracks from Sam's site instead of Amazon or ITunes. And, of course, for you, being out of the country, there will be no issue with waiting for the local ITunes to serve up the music. :-) It is a win, win, win for you. I forwarded your issue to someone who will forward it to someone else who will probably tell someone else to fix the problem. :-) You should get an email from someone today.

I noticed the same problem when I signed up. I was assuming I'd get a user name and password via a welcome email at some point in the near future.

The only thing I noticed when I got my receipt was a sign-up invite for Pay Pal.

This must the be wave of the future - noticed Jack White's label is doing something similar.

Eleanor,

After you paid, the paypal page was supposed to take you back to the login page so that you could register. This type of issue happens enough that they probably should have done this another way. I'll send your email along also.

As for subscriptions, if that is what you're talking about, lots of artists are playing with ideas in this area. I know that one artist committed to releasing a song a week for 52 weeks. That is nuts. In the end, he created a CD based on what his fans loved the most from the 52 songs. Lots of cool ideas floating around these days and it is all good for us fans.

No problem Eleanor. If anyone else has problems with the site, send them this way and I'll get them to someone who cares (not that I don't). :-)
