Theplot centers around Ben, a self-proclaimed introvert who receives devastating news: he has stage 4 cancer and only a 10% chance of survival. After learning this, he sees a group of riders pass him on the street. He becomes inspired to get on two wheels.

After a motorcycle accident, the main character, Francis, reconnects with his two brothers on a journey of self-discovery. The trio ends up exploring the vastness of the Rajasthan Desert, cramped together on the back of a Honda Hero 1,000cc motorbike.

The documentary is jam-packed with big names from the world of motorcycling, including MotoGP rider, Valentino Rossi, and desert riding pioneer, Dave Ekins. The star-studded bill explores why they ride as well as the history of motorcycling.

The internet went into a collective meltdown trying to work out what the GI Joe motorcycle was. And, while never confirmed by the filmmakers, the credits revealed the name Chris Paz (the US Service Manager at Energica).

As the weather starts to get colder motorcyclists everywhere are left wondering what to do after winterizing their bikes. Fortunately for them (and for us) there are hundreds if not thousands of incredible motorcycle movies available for purchase or rent online.

One of the oldest and most iconic motorcycle movies of all time, On Any Sunday was created in 1971 and still stands as one of the most popular motorcycle movies in the world today. This historic film offers you a glimpse into the grassroots origins of racing, and the lives of legends like Steve McQueen, Malcolm Smith, Mert Lawwill and more.

One of the most eccentric, quirky, hard-to-believe, and 100% true motorcycle racing stories of all time. In this movie viewers follow the real-life trials, challenges, and victories of the world record setting New Zealander Burt Munroe as he races his 1920 Indian Scout on the Bonneville Salt Flats.

This American independent road drama is a hugely influential counterculture piece written by Peter Fonder, Dennis Hopper, and Terry Southern in 1969. Easy Rider explores prevalent 1960s issues of the time through the story of two drug-dealing bikers carrying cocaine through the American Southwest.

After all that speed it would only make sense to watch a movie about the meditative quality of motorcycle riding! One Week follows the journey of Ben Tyler (played by Joshua Jackson) as he rides from Toronto to Tofino in search of mental clarity and personal peace.

This 1963 Epic American war film stars Steve McQueen and features one of the most iconic motorcycle jumps in all of two-wheeled history. Based on a true story, this action/adventure film follows the story of a group of World War II allied prisoners, and their attempts to escape.

Perhaps more easy parallels could be drawn between these films and earlier motorcycle movies, such as The Wild One (1953) or The Wild Angels (1966), in which the protagonists are in fact members of violent motorcycle gangs. Akira fits most neatly alongside these:

In this narrative, rather than the outlaw gang terrorizing our protagonists, we are invited into the world of these characters, one of whom becomes the antihero of the story. In terms of its connections with the fearsome gangs of No Blade of Grass and Mad Max, we again see a sense of community established beyond normal society, in which bikers are enabled to travel the frontier of post-apocalyptic environments (in this case Tokyo). Perhaps, then, these narratives, in depicting biker gangs, show that countercultural groups are able to maintain a sense of stability that goes beyond the breakdown of the civilizations they depart from. The morality of these lawless groups is certainly shown by post-apocalyptic narratives as ambiguous, but whereas for other characters the apocalypse does mean the end of the world, for motorcyclists the end of the world does little to impede their freedoms, and may in fact even reinforce them. Though they outlast the societies that have crumbled into ruin, however, there is at all times a sense that these technologies on which they depend must also decay, as Wolfe asserts, though this is at least a slower process for the freewheeling, independent gangs, who possess both a sense of community and an enterprising nature.

The true story of Burt Munro is pretty incredible, to start with. Simply put, he was a motorcycle salesman, living aloe, who bought an Indian in 1920. Like any good gearhead, he thought it was too slow. Over the years he maintained it by himself, in his garage, with tools he made himself, and even parts he managed to make himself, building the bike into a 950cc triple-chain drive beast. At age 63 (his first trip to Bonneville) he set the world landspeed record for a motorcycle. And again, in 1966. At age 68 he broke the record again as his final run on the salt flats.

When pint-sized motorcycle cop John Wintergreen believes a suicide is a murder, he gets his wish and is transferred to the homicide division. Unfortunately, the satisfaction from his promotion is short-lived and so begins a slow descent to a famously tragic conclusion.

Apart from The Dude, a badass Daft Punk soundtrack and flying discs of doom, the best thing about Tron: Legacy has to be the Lightcycle bikes. These light-lined beasts produce a destructive field making their gaming arena lethally entertaining. The real-world version might not be so dangerous but its looks are still killer. To get an idea of the effort that went into creating spectacular CGI sequences like the lightcycle battle: this film was shot in 64 days, the special effects took 68 weeks.

Plenty of great things happened in 1989: the Berlin wall fell, I was born, and Chopper Chicks in Zombietown graced the silver screen. This cinematic work follows the exploits of a rough and tumble gang of biker babes as they run into trouble in a podunk town in the middle of nowhere. The gang must fight off hordes of close-minded townies and more than a handful of zombies to get out alive

The Baja 1000 has a reputation as the most dangerous race in the world. Every year, the race draws enthusiasts from all walks determined to brave the grueling and inhospitable terrain of Baja, Mexico. This documentary about the 24-hour race follows celebrities, factory race teams, and single-man competitors on their journey through the 2003 race. Sure, there are more four-wheeled vehicles in this documentary than other films on this list, but Dana Brown does a great job of showing the intensity of racing.

Two drug-dealing hippies score big and look to get out of the life. Taking the money and leaving their past behind, the two set off for a cross country trip. Along the way, the motorcycle-riding hippies run into life-altering situations and substances causing them to question their entire being.

An instant classic. After a satanic ritual during which an occultist is killed by a motorcycle gang, a bike is inhabited by a vampiric spirit. An unsuspecting Noddy (Neil Morrissey) later buys that motorcycle and wants to fix it up, but the machine has developed a thirst for blood and revenge.

Featuring some of the coolest guys around at the time, both in the motorcycling community and beyond, On Any Sunday brought motorcycling to the mainstream. Thanks to the legendary Malcolm Smith, Mert Lawwill, and the king of cool himself, Steve McQueen. The film features motorcycle racing, the culture, and general tomfoolery.

Now I have the time and freedom in my life to make the kind of videos that I want to make, which usually involve travel by motorcycle and/or 44 van, and life as a the owner of a small vintage motel in Bisbee, Arizona. All of this is made much easier with the support of my incredible partner and muse, Eva.

My second motorcycle was a used Yamaha 360 Enduro, purchased from a neighbor. I rode that bike for approximately two years as an early teenager on the trails around my house in Spring Lake, Michigan. Eventually I became more interested in school and other things and we sold the bike which was broken at the time.

I created my first videos in 1984 with the help of Roger Schutter and the the Fruitport High School Media Productions Class. This was my introduction to video production and what would ultimately become my career.

I purchased an old BMW motorcycle through an ad in the local newspaper, and began motorcycle touring around the northwest. I rode this motorcycle for about four years on several long distance tours and had it all set up with vintage equipment to match the motorcycle.

Helge Pedersen founded GlobeRiders in 2000 a commercial motorcycle touring company that took clients around the world on the longest motorcycle adventure tours offered at the time. He wanted me to film his first tour across Asia in 2000 but I was unable to do so. However, in 2001 we traveled to Iceland and created our first feature length documentary film together, the Iceland Expedition. We marketed and sold this filom on DVD with the help of Touratech-USA as a distributor.

In 2002 I was finally able to join Helge Pedersen and GlobeRiders on their 65 day journey across Asia from Shanghai to Munich and we created the GlobeRiders Eurasian Odyssey which was broadcast on the Speed Channel and also available on DVD.
