My organization along with partners across the state are working on a statewide disaster response plan.

We are seeking information regarding what other states/areas are doing, and what opportunities or successes were learned from their implemented response plans.

Please provide responses to the following general questions and provide any additional information you feel is important to know.

In the PLAN DEVELOPMENT stages:

  • What did you know at the end of creating the plan that you wish you’d known when you started?
  • Who did you wish you heard more from in creating the plan?
  • What did stakeholder engagement look like? Would you do it the same way?
  • Advice for our team?

After Deployment of plan and team stage:

  • What did you learn from using your plan?
  • Did you make changes after?
  • What worked well?

Any and all responses provided will be appreciated, thank you!

Good afternoon!

So, we have our state plan 2022-2026. I was not working in my position when this plan was updated. I am working right now with each of our Region’s to get their individual disaster response plans updated to reflect the statewide plan. When it comes time to update the statewide disaster plan, I would like to involve the disaster coordinators at the region levels/more stakeholder involvement.

We did have a disaster declaration this past April for tornadoes that hit the region 6 area of Nebraska. It was a small-scale disaster so activating/utilizing the state disaster plan was not needed to a great extent.

I’m sorry I cant contribute more at this time.
