Dear Disaster Behavioral Health Community Members,

Thank you for being a part of the SAMHSA Disaster Technical Assistance Center (DTAC) Disaster Behavioral Health Google Group, designed to facilitate conversation and information sharing among professionals in the field. 

As a member of this Group you can participate in the community by beginning or responding to conversation threads. Please feel free to begin conversation threads about your state, tribe, or territory's planning, response, or recovery activities; share resources or helpful information; or pose questions to the community. Thank you for your commitment to advancing the field of disaster behavioral health.

----------Start a new conversation----------

1. Sign into your Google Groups account at https://groups.google.com/

2. Click the name of a group.

3. If you want to start a new discussion thread, at the top left, click New Conversation.

4. Enter a subject. Your email subject becomes the conversation subject. 

5. Enter a message.

6. Click Post Message.

----------Respond to a conversation----------

You can read and respond to posts using Google Groups or email, depending on how the group is set up. 

Respond A -- via email

1. Click the post in your email inbox. You can select any email in the conversation thread to reply to. Reply options: 

¨ To respond only to the person who posted, select Reply

¨ To respond to the whole group, select Reply all.

Respond B -- via Google Groups

1. Sign into your Google Groups account at https://groups.google.com/

2. Click the name of a group.

3. Click the message you want to read.

4. To reply to the group, choose an option: 

¨ For the last message in the conversation—Below the message text, click Reply all. Compose your reply. Click Post Message.

¨ For any message—Click More Reply all.  Compose your reply. Click Post Message.

5. To reply only to the person who posted, choose one of two options:

¨ For the last message in the conversation—Below the message text, click Reply to author. Your browser opens your configured email client to the message compose screen. Compose your reply. Click Send.  

¨ For any message—Click More. Reply to author. Your browser opens your configured email client to the message compose screen. Compose your reply. Click Send. 

This option is only available if: 

¨ You’re using a Google Account.

¨ You have browser configured to open mail to links.

¨ You have the Who can reply to author and Who can view member email addresses permissions.

¨ If this option isn’t available, try to Make Gmail your default email program.

6. To forward a message, choose an option: 

¨ For the last message in the conversation— Below the message text, click Forward. Compose your reply. Click Send.

¨ For any message—Click More Forward.  Compose your reply. Click Send.
