Center Supplemental Research Bulletin: Women and Disasters¾Developed
by SAMHSA DTAC, this issue of the Supplemental Research Bulletin
highlights women and disasters. It presents research findings on how disasters directly
affect women, including specific subgroups such as pregnant and older women.
Additionally, the issue offers recommendations for disaster behavioral health
programs to effectively address the needs of women.

CDC-provided guide highlights prevalent epidemiological indicators for pregnant

development process for post-disaster indicators.

Services Emergency Preparedness and Response, this infographic serves expectant

disaster planning for mothers, families, and communities overall.

UNDP
Gender and Recovery Toolkit¾
Developed by the United
Nations Development Programme (UNDP), this toolkit offers guidance on fostering
gender equality and women’s empowerment in crisis and recovery settings. It
details seven guidance-based themes that encourage disaster and recovery
leaders to adopt recovery approaches tailored to the unique needs of women and
girls during crises. The toolkit further provides quick fact sheets, policy
framework overviews, and additional innovative practices.
