This is a friendly reminder that the August SAME San Diego Post Luncheon will be held tomorrow, Wednesday August 12th, from 11:30 AM-1:30 PM at the Wyndham San Diego Bayside.  Online registration is closed, but you are more than welcome to join us and register at the event!

 

***PLEASE NOTE: This month's meeting will be held at the Wyndham San Diego Bayside Pacific Room D rather than the customary Harborside Room. See attached event flyer for location details.***

 

This month, SAME San Diego hosts Commander Alexander Kohnen – Navy Region Southwest Assistant Regional Engineer.  Commander Kohnen will be presenting information on the Navy Region Southwest (NRSW) Smart Shore Implementation Strategy.  This topic will highlight the NRSW focus on installation energy, infrastructure and information security, and will provide insight on planning efforts underway to implement Smart Shore concepts throughout the Region.

 

Summary:

 

What is Smart Shore?

 

Smart Shore is the integration of operations, energy, and networking assets to provide a unified approach to shore management that reduces cost and optimizes resource allocation in a cyber-secure manner.  The NRSW Smart Shore implementation strategy will integrate traditional Navy operations with facilities and energy management utilizing accredited, cyber-secure common IT systems infrastructure to identify and resolve issues that will allow installations throughout the Region to support the Navy's mission effectively and efficiently.

- Lunch prices: $10 for Junior Officers, NCO's, SAME Young Members, $25 for SAME Members, and $30 for NON-SAME Members.
