11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. - Lunch Program
This month, SAME San Diego welcomes CAPT Clifford Maurer, the Commanding Officer of NAVFAC Southwest.
CAPT Maurer leads an organization that is responsible for the public works, planning, engineering, construction, real estate, environmental services, and the acquisition of facilities on Navy and Marine Corps installations in six states on the West Coast. The command is comprised of over 3,400 federal employees with an annual operating budget in excess of $3.2 billion.
CAPT Maurer graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 1984. He holds a Master of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley and is a graduate of the Advanced Management Program at the Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania.
CAPT Maurer is a registered engineer in the Commonwealth of Virginia and a Seabee Combat Warfare Officer. He is a member of the Acquisition Professional Community, American Society of Civil Engineers and the Society of American Military Engineers. His personal decorations include: Legion of Merit (three awards), Bronze Star Medal (two awards); Meritorious Service Medal (three awards); Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (three awards); Army Commendation Medal and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal. In 1996 he was awarded the Moreell Medal by S.A.M.E.

. Cost for the lunch is $25 ($10 for Young Members, NCO & Junior Officers). All late registrations and walk-in attendees will be charged a $5 late fee.
