Hi
Many of us may be knowing that Karmayog.com is an NGO platform that deals with social issues and rights in an organized manner. Any NGO or individual can be a member of the karmayog community and get notification / mails etc. Its one of its kind in India and have a large number of member base. I being a member get regular mails ................ yesterday got the message, where, I thought SAMS reference can be mentioned. Did exactly that and immediately got the correspondence mail featuring SAMS name nos and website etc. in the KARAMAYOG website for the first time.
Forwarding both the messages for you reference. Thanks. Rita

Dera Sir

A sick person in my neighbourhood at Powai is undergoing psychiatric and neurological treatment as he met an accident about 2 months ago. His both sons stay abroad, they visited him and have returned back to USA.

His wife left him about a week ago as she felt that it was not safe for her to stay with him. Since the man is staying in the flat alone. This man is totally disturbed and depressed. Other day hit 2 parked cars with his scooter. Many neighbors are worried that he may harm them. It seems none of his relatives is interested to take care of him as he fights with them without any reason.

Can we complaint to police against his wife for deserting him. One of the neighbour discussed this issue with him, but he is not in favor of complaining. However all are worried that he may harm them as many times he behave funny.

Please suggest how to handle this case

Regards

This is reference to your concern for a neighbour having psychological problem.
I would like to mention an organisation called SAMARITANS, MUMBAI. It is basically a suicide prevention helpline which provides emotional support to those in depression, distress and despair. So anyone, who is mentally distressed, despaired and depressed can call this helpline that works from 3p.m. to 9p.m.(all seven days in a week).

Sushant, is there a way I can work myself out of these tiresome messages that have no meaning to me now?
Can I remove myself from this group? How?

Hi Mrunalini,
Will you, please, advise all current volunteers to remove Farrokh's name from their List for communication on anything to be done with SAMARITANS MUMBAI activities ?

Thanks,
Manohar

Dear Manohar Sir,

He can leave the group on his own without anybody's help.
Let him click http://groups.google.com/group/samaritans-mumbai.& look for options there.
