Dear Vivek
On 2nd October, Gandhi Ji’s birthday, the walk/run charity event Footsteps4good at BKC that was set up by Jill Beckingham is on again this year. Jill has now left Mumbai so has handed over the organisation of the event to the British Business Group. As you have taken part in previous events, I am contacting you to see if you would like to join the event this year and raise money for some great social causes.
We have changed the format a little this year. We have kept the 10 km run for individuals. Instead of a 10km walk, we have made it 5 kms and also introduced a 1 km barefoot walk to celebrate Gandhi Ji’s philosophy. For corporates, we have introduced a Corporate Challenge that is a team of two running 5 kms each and racing against other corporates. This is a great chance for corporates to combine team building and CSR in one event.
Last year the minimum donation to charity was rs 2000. We have reduced that to rs 1000 this year to make the event more accessible. You will receive an 80g tax certificate that allows you deduct 50% of your donation against tax so you actual donation will be rs 500.
We have also changed the timetable for the event so that it ends before 900am so if you have to get to office, you will still have time to do take part and get to office on time.
Registrations for the event open now. You can go to www.footsteps4good.org to register. We would love you to join us again this year.
