A Concept Note
To
Promote Quality Education in Baglung and the Region
Quality education has been a long thrust among the community people in Baglung. Many of the schools have initiated their best efforts to improve the quality of education that a public school provides. Ganesh Secondary School is one of the public schools that initiated quality education movements and has achieved tremendous success. It is one of the best schools in the region.
This concept note is prepared to assist public schools in Baglung and the region to achieve their thrust to quality education through promotion and dissemination of best practices of public schools. For this, a team (loose network) of journalists, educationists and development professionals will document the best practices of schools in Baglung and the region, prepare a training manual and develop a team of local facilitators. These local facilitators will be trained properly so the deliverables are well packaged, meet the demand of community people, are easily adoptable and promote local solutions. Ganesh School will act as a resource center. This resource center will be equipped with skilled professionals from Kathmandu through modern means of technology. A website will be designed where all the learning materials and information will be put and people will have easy access to those learning materials and information.
Many of the organizations lose their benchmark during the course of operation. To keep the quality benchmark permanent, the schools will be facilitated to assess their performance in a quarterly basis. Schools will conduct action research on classroom activities, teaching methodology, management issues and challenges. The resource center will also work as a study center to the scholars, professionals and government officials. The resource center will be a lab to M.Phil. Students, development workers and government officers especially education officers to generate, design, materialize and reform innovative ideas to promote and sustain quality education.
Leaders do the things differently. We will link up our works with the people of Baglung and the region living in Kathmandu and abroad. We also develop and promote local leaders / advocators, document best practices, promote local solutions and assist teachers to shape their attitude.
