Local Bodies give priority to Education

It gives me a great pleasure to inform you that the District
Development Committee, Dhanusha distributed 1 million rupees in
scholarship and 0.5 million rupees to madarssa. The scholarship was
distributed on Tuesday 19 Auguest, 2008. The scholarship was
distributed to 277 students.

The chief district officer says that the scholarship will encourage
and increase a fair educational competition among the students which
shall result increased priority in education within the students and
the parents.

The money for scholarship and to madarssa was funded under "Madhesi
Pichadiyaka Barga ra Muslim Uthhan Karyakram of Ministry of Local
Development.

Thanks for sharing the info.
Positive move, a good start ! however, it should not be the end. What are
the mechanism of continuation ? I think, it should aim to improve life of
the family simultaniously.
