United States: As of 6 August 2009, Hurricane Felicia is moving on a
course toward Hawaii. Current forecasts show it beginning to affect
the island chain late on 10 August. As of 0900 UTC, the storm was
located approximately 1,480 mi/2,380 km west-southwest of the southern
tip of Baja California and was moving west-northwest. Maximum
sustained wind speeds are at 140 mph/122 kt, making it a Category 4
storm. However, Felicia is expected to weaken over the next several
days, possibly becoming a tropical storm or depression before reaching
Hawaii.

Meanwhile, Tropical Storm Enrique also continues to be active in the
Pacific Ocean, approximately 1,035 mi/1,670 km west of the southern
tip of Baja California. However, the storm is currently not projected
to make landfall before dissipating.

Neither storm should affect the passage of S/V Samadhi V.
