Dear,

We would like to modelise Renewable Energy plants (solar trough and
wind) based on plant specific design. So we may need TRNSYS to do such
modelisation knowing that SAM is just giving the overall plant
performance and the financial model. Is this true or SAM offers also
the possibility to perform such modelisation as we also read that
TRNSYS is incoroporated into SAM. Please clarify our confusion.

Best Regards
Shakir

Dear Shakir,

SAM models the components in a parabolic trough and wind system, so
you should be able to do your modeling in SAM. You can specify the
parameters of each component using SAM's user interface.

It is also possible to use SAM with custom TRNSYS components, but
that is an advanced modeling technique that should not be required
given the types of systems you are modeling.

Best regards,
Paul.
