Hi Salvus Team,

I'm interested in using Salvus' kernel calculation capabilities in the near future, and was wondering if there is a specific date the new binaries are expected to be released and if they will support kernel calculation for arbitrary adjoint sources?

Hi jack,

Thanks for the email. We expect to distribute Salvus binaries, which will support kernel calculations for arbitrary adjoint sources, in mid to late February.

There is some additional information here that is worth mentioning. We are moving forward with plans to found a small software start-up focused on Salvus. In practical terms for users, this means a yearly academic license fee will be introduced to support full-time feature development and code maintenance. This being said, there will be a time-limited free trial period, the length of which is still being determined.

We are working together with ETH to make this transition as smooth as possible, but at the current time we can’t be more exact on the binary timeline. For more information about this, don’t hesitate to send any questions to in...@salvus.io.

Cheers and best wishes,
Mike.
