Request for gitlab.com username/password during installation

Hi there,

I'm trying to install Salvus on OSX following the instructions provided here: https://salvus.io/installation/

I'm able to clone the main repository without a problem, but when I try to install the submodules it requests a username/password to access the salvus_wave repository. 

Do I need to join the project on gitlab in order to install the code? There's no mention of this in the instructions.

Hi Alan,

Sorry for the slow response here, my bad. We’ve been working hard on a new version of SalvusWave, which we’ll release early next year (January). In the meantime we decided to phase out support for the prototype version — which is why you’re getting the error you are. I agree that this is not clear at all from our website, which will soon be updated.

When the new version is released we’ll send a message out here. As well, this version will come with binary installers, which should clear up everyone’s (seemingly) #1 issue, which is installation.
