I am pleased to announce the release of salve 2.0 final. A lot of work
has gone into this release including a basic aop framework, simplified
spring transaction integration, and much improved ide integration. The
release is available in our maven repo: http://salve.googlecode.com/svn/maven2/,
more details are available at http://salve.googlecode.com.

I am also pleased to announce the release of salve 3.0.beta. This
version of salve is based on AspectJ and while making some sacrifices:
http://code.google.com/p/salve/wiki/WhyNotAspectJ, I believe moving
forward this will be a much more viable platform. There isnt much
documentation about this codebase yet on the wiki, but a fully
functional salve-testbed project is available in subversion:
http://salve.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/salve-testbed/. This project
demonstrates hibernate+spring+salve+aspectj setup.

Your thoughts are welcome.

Cheers,

-Igor

Hi Igor, did you find a way to remove a field using AspectJ in the 3.0 branch?  From a scan of the dependency aspect it looks like it just intercepts the field access?

there is no way to remove fields using aspectj. to help with hibernate
jpa's @Transient has to be mixed in.

Hi Igor, I read that removing annotations is now supported in 1.6.11

They also say: "It is not yet supported on the other forms of declare @." which seems to hint that it is a possibility for a future release.
