Chloe,

It was awesome speaking with you last night as well.  I am fwding this to our Coop mates as I believe that they will be just as inspired as I was by you story.   I have had a challenging last couple of years so I am looking fwd to stepping up my healthy eating habits and getting back on track in that dept.   I  found myself eating a bit of comfort food periodically and look fwd to eating healthy comfort food and stepping up my work out program.  So adding raw into my diet will be perfect.  I always love raw when I eat raw.  We have a mixture of people here with a variety of diets, however I believe everyone would be open to and benefit to at least adding a bit of raw into their diet.

Turns out that we are alley mates with you,  so I think that this will be perfect.  We are at 848 Green Street.  So if you you walk out your back door and into the alley and head toward Liberty park, we are on the east side of the alley...you can't miss our chickens, ducks and turkey.  Are you near the MCC church?

We are renting a rototiller this weekend, so if you are able to come help rototill that will be awesome.  We pick it up after noon on Sat and will have it until 7-8 am on Monday.

We would like to get the following sections rototilled over the weekend.
1. Front Yard and Parking strip
2. Adjacent Sister House Mel's backyard
3. Two foot strips along the edges of the alley behind our homes
4. Vacant lot across the street( We figured we would at least get it rototilled since we will have it rented and then figure out the details of who owns it next week-- It has been abandoned for years.

Sat is also the Plant sale at Wasatch Community Gardens,  so folks may want to check it out and pick up any of their favorite plants.  Here is the link below.

We look fwd to having you here

babs

My name is Chloe. I am 27 years old and live near Liberty Park.
823 South 600 east. I also clean houses for a living and volunteer
for 2 organizations.

It was such a pleasure to speak with you on the phone. I was not expecting
to find someone who also knows how to prepare raw recipes. And someone
who is so passionate about gardening and living well.

I am new to all of this, but I have a passion too, for learning new things with
groups of other motivated people. I am so excited to meet you and see everything
that you are doing. It is refreshing to hear such aliveness over the phone. :)

Alittle bit about me......
Just recently in 2009 (after the prop 8 stuff happened), I learned that almost
40% of homeless youth are Queer. Being LGBTQI myself, I had to do
something right away. So my best friend and I decided to walk across
America. You can find out more of our journey here: www.pridewalk2009.org

We spent 9 months on the walk and just got back in December. Since then,
we have created a nonprofit (Operation Shine America) to raise awareness
of the homeless youth epidemic, nationally and locally.

In 2005 - 2008 I was bedridden with stomach Lupus and very depressed. I
had to become a raw foodest, because nothing else was working. Now I am
able to walk again! And my health is returning in many ways. :)

Now I am also a strong advocate for homeless youth and a Human Rights activist.
:) I had no idea I would ever be doing this. I had no idea I would ever one day
be a raw foodest. And now I am making a documentary of Operation Shine
to show in the sundance film festival. I am not sure what happened. Some
times I am still shocked at how much my life has changed in just 1.5 years.
Lol. But I know it has something to do with surrendering. I just gave up on
controlling my life and things started getting better - so fast. But I have no
idea where I am going and I don't know what will even become of me. But
I am more available now and not as afraid. I used to be afraid of everything.
When my life begins to be filled with pain or fear or physical illness, I know
now that it is because I am holding on too tight. I simply have to practice
to let go. This (ironically) is still hard at times. Lol. Even though every time
I do it.....BIG things happen so fast that brings my entire life into balance.

I am not sure why I am telling you all of this. Maybe I will be able to join
your amazing journey with the gardens and the co-op. If so, I know I will
be a grateful and hard working team mate. If not, that is okay too. I am just
happy to have come across you and I look forward to speaking again. What
you are doing is changing the world! I can feel it so strongly. And I am so
grateful that people like you are showing up en masse now.

It is incredible and beautiful. And I appreciate being alive at this time.

Talk to you soon!
Chloe Noble
