Tomorrow/Sunday--Garden Gang heading Raw and Seed Planting Brunch

Tomorrow, The Green St Coop and Garden Gand will be sponsoring a Raw
Breakfast/Brunch Potluck and Seed Planting Workshop from 10am-On on
Sunday 7 Feb 2010. Come One, Come All. Bring your friends. Bring a
Raw dish or not. Stop by for the day or only for a while. We are
excited to kicking off the new year with a new fresh start, new faces,
new dietary options and new projects. This will be our first season
utilizing our newly built hoop houses with passive solar heat in the
back yard and grow lights in the basement. We traded close to 100
eggs for seeds at the Peoples Market Seed Swap last weekend. Thanks
Kyle, the People's Market and The Sorrensen Center for hosting the
event. We want to open the Coop and Garden to the Greater Salt Lake
Community at large. Our plan is for everyone to share knowledge,
planting, watering and seedlings this Winter/Spring and then
distribute/trade the seedlings amongst all of us to ensure the
greatest variety and planting success for everyone's gardens. Feel
free to bring your own seeds to plant as well. We have green house,
hoop house and grow light space to share. If you can't make it Sun,
call to make arrangements to come share in seed planting and sharing
at a time that is more convenient for you. We want everyone to

The Hollday Community garden is just down the street from me.  It is out in an wide open field with no shade.  I have a small 4x4 x4 ft high garden just outside my house.  The condo let me build it.  We got a late start last yr so I only got lettuce and tomatoes and some basil out of it.  I am looking forward to starting to plant soon and use the 1 gal water jugs as mini greenhouses.  Even though it is 4 ft high I had two snails in it last summer. 

 

How many chickens ducks and turkeys do you have?  Where is the coop?  I miss gardening with you but I now work full time and don't have a lot of time.  Lily came in instacare last week with her little girl.  They still live in the same place.  She said she hadn't seen you much.  Sharon
