We are pleased to announce the 2015.5.5 release of Salt! The release notes can be found here:

The sources are available on PyPI:

Note that there was a significant performance regression in 2015.5.4, and as as result it was never packaged.

Thanks for your contributions!

Is 2015.5.5 going to make it to the repos anytime soon? According to APT the latest available is 2015.5.3, and it's been a couple months now.

SaltStack chose to bring all the repos in house, so the external PPA,
Copr, etc. repos have all been orphaned at 2015.5.3 or earlier.

http://repo.saltstack.com/ has current packages and install
instructions. https://github.com/saltstack/salt/issues/28674 ,
https://github.com/saltstack/salt/issues/28142 , etc. are tracking
deprecating the external repos.

Good luck!

Yes but as repo.saltstack.com does not have any package neither for debian wheezy, nor for the armhf architecture, it would be great if debian.saltstack.com could be updated to provide packages for versions > 2015.5.3 at least until repo.saltstack.com provides complete packaging for all debian architectures/versions.

+1 for updated wheezy packages, in either repo.

I have linked related issues to the issue Arthur filed. If I missed
anything, you are welcome to add it. Thanks.
