master- Minion key not showing up

 i m a newbie to salt.. right now i m setting up the SALT Master & MInion but the issue is minion key is not getting listed on Master

i have checked the ports 4505 & 4506 are opened

is there anything else i need to configure.. ? please advise

Hi,

You could try restart the minion with debug mode;

# salt-minion -l all (the same goes for salt-master if needed)

Make sure you can ping the host "salt" if you have not changed the minion config.

Just to confirm, the master has ports 4505 and 4506 open and the minion can ping the master?

Like saltycdy mentioned try stopping the salt-minion daemon and then as root run   salt-minion -l debug

That should show you any errors the minion is producing.

If all those are correct, then when you run   salt-key -L   you should see your new minion there.
