Openstack + Heat + Salt(-cloud)

Hi ,

I currently reading docs on Heat and I have stumbled upon hooks for saltstack .

My questions :

Is anybody using Heat + Salt for deploying openstack instances ?

Hi t10tennn,

not yet as I'm busy fixing some issues with our openstack-formula [0].
Got the basic setup of Heat itself done (not yet on Github) but stumbled over some issues at other places (mostly Neutron) so I couldn't reliably test Heat.
I will push a bunch of updates to Github as soon as I'm done fixing states for testing Neutron.

Once I'm done adding test-states for all the stuff below I will add states for Heat, too. And its API (read "exec and state modules for Salt") if anything is missing.

Hi Mike,

first I have to figure out how I cause these
stacktraces [0] in the neutron-server ;)

Once I got Neutron fixed and we got
reasonable stable support for Heat we
will go for the kilo-release of OpenStack
(which release to use will be configurable
via `pillar[openstack:release]`).

I plan to push new code to Github as
soon as I got Neutron fixed.
