RHEL 8 ARM Repos

Hello,

I'm trying to find salt 3000.9 rpm packages for RHEL 8 ARM but can't seem to locate ARM architecture rpms for older releases.

I see 3006 packages in the repos at https://repo.saltproject.io/salt/py3/redhat/8/arm64/

However when looking through the archives, there are x86_64 3000.9 packages but nothing for ARM: https://archive.repo.saltproject.io/py3/redhat/8/x86_64/archive/3000.9/

Are ARM packages for RHEL a relatively new offering starting with 3006 or am I missing something in the archived repository layout?

Just in case anyone runs into a similar need in the future, you'll have to rebuild the packages for arm architecture from the source RPMs provided in the salt archive repos.

$ sudo salt-call --local grains.item osfinger os_family cpuarch saltversion

local:
    ----------
    cpuarch:

        aarch64

    os_family:
        RedHat

    osfinger:
        Oracle Linux Server-8
    saltversion:
        3000.9

for the record arm on more than debian is a new thing. relenv allowed us to spread out the systems we could release on with less work to get there.

Ah, makes sense. That was my assumption but I wasn't certain. Thanks for confirming that for me.

Really nice to see all the new platform support provided by relenv/onedir. I'm looking forward to upgrading to 3006.
