Dear Jayers,
it's been quite a while since i communicated through the trusty email. I have done most communication via Facebook through our group and Fan pages. So if you have yet to be a part of the SalsaJay community on FB, please do so.
Anywhoo, i feel that what i have to share warrants a lenghtly email. So please spare some time to read this email :)
1. TALENT SHOWI am pleased to announce that for the first time (eva) SalsaJay will put together a Charity Talent Show in Nov this year. The mechanics are almost the same as our recital 2 years ago, only this time , the students (past, present, alumni) are the ones who are coming together to put their creative juices and produce their own choregraphies. I believe that this exercise is a truly remarkable effort and i applaud all those who have step forward to accept the challenge. Thus, my intention here is 2 fold:
- I hope that all jayers would be able to come and support the Charity Talent Show on 3rd November. Time & venue tba. As this is also a charity event, the entry to the Talentshow is via donations. All proceeds will go to charitable causes. We shall reveal the benefactors in due time. Because of this, any denomination of your donation is welcome. The most important thing is that all Jayers come together and show your support to our participants.
- You are most welcome to be a participant at the Talent Show. Yes, you heard me correctly.....we want YOU! If you wish to participate and "unhang" your dancing/performing shoes -please feel free to submit your intention to participate. The pre req for performers are as follows:
a) any form of performances are welcome - be it singing, popping, acting, bachata, zouk , beat boxing and etc. The only requirement is that , you need to have 50% of your choreo in salsa ( unless you are doing a pure zouk, bachata, jazz routine).
b) The minimum of number of participant per entry is 2 to a max of 6 members on your team
c) performance must be at least 2 mins. max is 5 mins
if you are interested to learn more or participate, please feel free to contact me in any shape /form :)
