Hi everyone,
Ms. Vo and I discovered yesterday that SALSA has approximately 200 more students than SMART. I asked MR. Millender about the inequity in the counseling aspect of it as I am basically overloaded with almost 400 seniors. Mr. Millender told me that when the SLCs were divided up that SALSA ended up with more students because they were given the bigger SLCs. Now that every class is "global" I don't see why we have a bigger number of students.
In the past week I have changed the status of 10 plus ESL seniors to an 11th grade status as they need the extra year in order to graduate. I am working on moving students with low credits into continuation school and getting students placed in adult and APEX classes. Please bear with me while I try and sort everything out as I didn't come on board until October.
Also, if we are to keep this many students in our SLC the monies that the SLC is given should be equitable to the amount of students in the SLC. Is it?
Thanks,
Cathi Lander
