I have tried using SALSA to perform an adjustment on approximately 11,000 stations with approximately 185,000 GNSS baselines and get the memory allocation error. I have tried increasing the virtual memory as per the manual however this has made no difference. Is there a known limitation on the size of the network that can be adjusted? We are looking at options for adjusting very large adjustments.

Thanks

Hi Robert,

That's quite a network! IIRC that's larger than anything we've tried to date. To answer your question, no, there is no known limitation on the size of the network; we've certainly not imposed any arbitrary limits. I'd be curious to know what happens if you disable portions of the network; can you find an effective limit given your compute resources? Then, does that limit prove sensitive to the amount of memory you make available to the application? When you're on the edge, what does Task Manager (assuming you're on windows) say about memory consumption? My expectation based on past experience is a network that size is simply going to take gobs of memory. Regards,

Clark

I have monitored the task manager within windows and have not seen the application use more than around 8.5gb of memory before it gives the error. It is a 32gb machine and has around 20gb free when starting the application. I may try playing around with limiting the number of observations to see if there is a point where I no longer get the error.

Ok, thank you for that additional info. That's interesting. When time permits we'll take a look and see if we can understand what's causing that effective limit.
