I have a sort of vague notion about using a smartphone app to gather data - "citizen science" style - for a map of light pollution across the UK. Or maybe wider.
So, take a picture, upload it and then with a bit of fancy calculation, taking into account angle, time, location metadata from the photo, and data about prevalent weather conditions it *may* be possible to put together a picture of how light a location is against how light it would be without artificial light polluting the scene.
Thoughts?
