Hi folks,
Saturday is National Trails Day! SVS and North Zone Trails are celebrating by hosting a volunteer trail work day. We're continuing work to finish up the trail signage in the Wagonhammer trail network.
We'll meet at 9 am at the main Wagonhammer trailhead, but then disperse to various project sites. Some of the project work includes:
- digging holes and installing signs up the Sheep Creek road at the Carl Gulch and Silverleads Ridge intersection area (drive up to work site)
- hiking up Trail Gulch and into the Little Silverleads Creek area to install some signs - will need to harvest native timber to install signs (~4 miles roundtrip)
- hiking or biking out to Big Silverleads for a few small trail signs, using native timber (a lot more mileage)
- staying near the main Wagonhammer trail for a trailhead sign and then out to do some brushing and tread work; there are also some signs up
Tools & lunch provided. Please bring plenty of water, work gloves, sun protection.
If Saturday doesn't work for you but you're interested in helping - reach out! I can give you a rundown of outstanding sign needs and project sites for you to do on your own time or with me & Meg sometime next week!
Reach out if you've got any questions!
