[Sally's Jubilee] URGENT PRAYER FOR CARLOS

Many of you will recognize the young man in the photo above.  Carlos went through the drug rehab program offered by my church here and completed it with flying colors as they say. After he completed the program he became Ramon's (the director of the men's center) right hand man. He and I spent time together going to and fro collecting donations and he shared his story with me.  Carlos spent many years on the streets here.  He was sad to say that some of his story included violence; he robbed people and did other things to get what he needed for his drug habit.  He made such a 180 degree change in his life, with the help of Jesus, and at times  he suffered emotionally for what he had done in the past.  But, as I watched him accept the Lord's forgiveness and give him a new perspective, Carlos became the kind of man that was always there to help - whenever, however he could.  He has become a real servant.  

A few months ago officers from what is equivalent here to our FBI showed up at the men's center looking for Carlos.  When he came forward, they said someone was trying to trick them because this was not the Carlos they knew.  Plus they had a picture and this Carlos looked nothing like the one they had a picture of!!  After some time, they were convinced that he was the same person.  They were so impressed with the change and all that Carlos is doing in the community that they decided to release him then and there on his own recognizance, allowing him to continue the work he was doing while his paperwork made its way through the legal system here..  Well, yesterday they came for him and took him off to jail!  We are all heartbroken!  Carlos told me many times that he was willing to do the time for his acts, if that was what God required of him.  I, along with those who know him, so admire him and his attitude!   


So I guess what I am asking is that God's perfect will will be done in this situation.  Of course, I personally am hoping that Carlos will be given a full release soon so he can return to what he was doing at the center. But only God knows the plans he has for Carlos, and these plans are not to harm him, as Jeremiah says.  Please trust God with me in this matter and keep Carlos in your prayers.  Thanks so much!!
