Dear Friend,

We are writing to invite you and your community to join us for a very special occasion.

The Loving Kindness Tour offers people of all spiritual traditions the rare opportunity to view a precious collection of sacred relics of the historical Buddha and other Buddhist masters from India, Tibet, Korea and China. These relics have been carefully preserved for many years and recently collected and brought together by Lama Zopa Rinpoche. They are being toured and exhibited with the blessings of the Dalai Lama, who has graciously offered the collection eight of the relics that have been under his care.

These relics, some of which resemble pearl-like objects, are found among the cremation ashes of Buddhist masters and are said to embody their qualities of wisdom, compassion and loving kindness. The relics, are intentionally generated by the masters to inspire and encourage us to cultivate these qualities in ourselves, so that we may contribute to conditions that create peace in the world. Those who have spent time in their presence report experiences of profound peace and wellbeing.

At its core, the event conveys the message that Loving Kindness resides in every person’s heart and is the basis for respect, peace and happiness in individuals and societies around the globe. The exhibition is being hosted in Washington, DC, by BuddhaFest and Allies in Compassion and will be on view throughout the weekend of October 4 - 6. Concurrent with the exhibition, there will be a Loving Kindness Celebration. Held in the same location, it will offer films, talks, meditation and music as a way of deepening the message of compassion and generating good will and peace.

This profound experience is offered to everyone in the Washington, DC area free of charge. Please join us throughout the weekend. Bring your children and if you have pets, bring them as well! Ordained members of the Sangha will offer special blessings by placing relics directly on the heads of guests.

We also extend an invitation to the Opening Ceremony.Friday, October 4. Please join us!
