Unfortunately, it's not that simple question to answer. Normally, the cost is the primary factor, and when that's the case, nothing can be best the Google and Yandex translators - both of which are free and reasonably accurate. DeepL is currently the most expensive one, but is also arguably the best translator for its supported language pairs.

Please note that AI based translation also highly depends on the source and target language pairs. Again, a native language speaker can answer this best, but based on the users feedback over the years on my website, it looks like DeepL is mostly the best option for the European languages. Yandex is normally better for Russian, and recently the Chat-GPT translator seems to work best for asian languages like Chinese, Arabic, Urdu, etc. languages. It's also the cheapest one in the paid translators category.

So, I guess the simple answer is to "Try it yourself!". Nearly all the translators here have a free/demo mode here, where you can translate few dozen lines to see which one works best for your desired language pair.

Important: The only exception to this rule are the paid translations. Where the translated subtitles are stored on my server for upto seven days from the date of translation. These are only kept for auditing and recovery processes, and are not shared with, nor accessible to any other third party companies.

Note: When uploading any subtitle file, you are solely responsible for ownership and permission to apply translation on the uploaded file. If you are not the copyright holder of the subtitle file, please check with the owner for permission before uploading or translating them.

Translating subtitles is a bit different than literary translations. Usually when you translate something, you try to convey exactly what the original text says without omitting, changing, or adding anything. With subtitles however, there are other factors to consider.

Hi,
Is there an addon that allows you to translate the embedded subtitle into my chosen language? I'm a little tired of doing it manually with my PC using Subtitle Edit software (Nikse.dk) which does a great job but I would like it to be automated from Stremio on Bollywood films where I only find English subtitles but I would like to read it in French.

Hello
I'm deaf I watch Twitch a lot of live broadcasts.
But I do not understand anything of what they say and then I have an idea:
Add a real-time subtitle translator in all languages in the viewer's choice will always be in all live broadcasts. And there will also be a font translation option or some type of translation
Example: translate exactly what he said or
Automatically corrects words
Move subtitles wherever user wants.
It can help not only deaf people it can be helpful to foreigners who can understand another language with the help of subtitles.
And also those who want to keep quiet in the room read a translation without sound.
I'll be happy if you consider people like me
Amitay
Thanks you

_subtitles#Gaupol_extension seemed promising but the Gaupol community said the extension is outdated and "in hindsight Gaupol extensions were a bad idea". Too bad because it seemed like a great utility.

Open the first subtitle file and through the Style Editor update the Alignment to 8 for centring above: =gopfzv6tZYA&t=63s. It's useful to save these styles via Subtitle > Style Manager. The second subtitle file will already likely be set at the default of 2, which is centred below:

Then simply Ctrl+A, Ctrl+C the subtitles from the first file and Ctrl+V them into the second (found on -Merge-Two-ass-Files-in-Aegisub#post2544365). It doesn't matter where, the program will automatically order them chronologically on save. Then Ctrl+S to be prompted where to save your file. Save it with the extension .ass because an .srt file will pile everything at the bottom and not save the font size, rendering the left instead of the right:
