My friends,

As I shared with svereral of you, there is a BBC documentary called 5
steps to Tyranny. I think everyone should see this, not only because I
used it as a term of comparasion, but also in our NGO work. For
example, I know of training courses where the trainers showed the
documentary in order to talk about conflicts, violence,, stereotypes,
prejudices, human nature, etc etc.

So please see it

Tiago,

thanks for sharing this. This could be the subject of our project,
although I think it is somewhat sensitive and loaded with a high level
of negative energy (and we want to party:). Still, since we all know
each other already, and if we would approach it correctly, it could
have a tremendous impact. Tyranny, manipulation, brainwashing, human
rights, opressive power over masses, authority, democracy these could
be just few of the keywords for the project. We are facing these
realities in every country right at present ( e.g. USA, some countries
of Africa and South America, Kosovo and even Romania etc.), or have
faced it at a certain time in history (former Yugoslavia, China,
Ruanda etc.) at a higher or lower level. It is what younger
generations should be educated about, so they can see things
differently and act more consciously. And we could do that through the
project.

What is your opinion?

To add to the main topic of the documentary 'tyranny', here you have
just another good example:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gertrude_Baniszewski or maybe you've
heard of the movie "The girl next door"...

Ah, and if you are interested in getting more information on these and
other subjects, check out also other BBC documentaries. They are
really interesting.
At the same time, don't forget who is transmitting the information,
the motives, the reasons, the motivation, the interest. Always analize
it critically.

All the best,

Anna,

This was just to share since I mentioned it to a lot of people.
Creating a YE about this topic...I say it's not easy, it's more a
topic for a TC than for an YE. an YE, in my opinion, should be
something simple, like the one we have been, sports as a topic with
something that involves the participants in the local community.
