Stand up.. to vice against the stench from untreated garbage from Solid waste management plant of Saligao ... Let us stand united to solve this problem

Few years ago when famous Solid waste management plant of Saligao was being planned at Saligao - Calangute hill there was apprehension and doubt about it's functioning ... there was fear among locals ....that Saligao may become village of garbage odour and stench, and because of this apprehension large section of people from Arrarim Salmona side opposed it bitterly.

Former CM Manohar Parrikar came specially to Saligao to address and convince the villagers..he assured that this would become one of the best run waste management plant of India....even Asia, It will become a picnic spot in future, where visters may enjoy their meal without any stench or odour ... That's what he promised

And now what our Saligaokars are suffering is nightmarish..

Odor and stench in Arrarim , Salmona, Sonarbhat , Nigvaddo Abreu vado is so strong and unbearable that having meal at home also becomes difficult.

Day by day this stench is increasing more and more . We were promised that the plant was made to treat waste only from our coastal villages but waste from Sakhali , Bicholim ,Valpai , Morjim, Arambol also comes to Saligao plant.

Residents of Saligao , Vorda, Candolim, Pilern ..some parts of Calangute too has to bear this stench for day and night.

Who is accontable to run this treatment plant as it was promised..we would like to know why the waste treatment plant authorities can not deliver what was promised ?

We planning to organise a Saligao villagers wolkathon to the treatment plant ..we want to share our grief and setiments to the authorities..it's up to them how they will adress the problem and solve it..

We can not stand this stench any more. We demand immediate solution for this problem.

We are requesting cooperation and solidarity from all Saligaokars on this sensitive issue .. even if you are from Cottula, Muddavado, Morod, Tabravado or Molebhat we request you to support our Arrarim , Salmona area villagers who suffer the most because of this stench.

Are you there to support this village cause walk with us to highlight and solve this issue ????
