DEATH: Teresa Noronha Fernandes, a teacher of Portuguese and other subjects

DEATH: Teresa Noronha Fernandes, from Grand Morodd, Saligao. She passed this early morning and was buried at the Saligao Cemetery shortly there after. She was ailing and passed very peacefully in her sleep. Teresa was a teacher at Lourdes Convent, and also at St. Mary’s Mapusa and was a Portuguese teacher at the Xavier Centre of Historical Research. She is survived by her husband, three daughters and grandchildren among others.

Wife of Avelino Fernandes (whom many might remember as a popular BOI bank manager in our village)

Mother of (1) Marlene /late Gladwyn Vaz living in the UK, (2) Greta / Lionel Costa living in Moira, Goa and (3) Iona/ Olavo Alberto living in the UK.

Grandmum of William, Claudina, Joshua/Yamini, Jonah, Jovi, Ian, Ianna, Ivor. Great-grandmum of Kiaan.
