Der All,
Peter (Bobo) D' Souza was a real great son of Saligao.always smiling, always ready to help anyone from the village. His column the Mae De Deus Church Bulletin will always be remembered for its content and solid good advice, especially for the young blood of the village. As the Editor of the Bulletin I never had to remind him to send his piece. It was always there before time. Thank you Peter for all you have don for us. We will miss you and will storm our Lad and our Lord to bless your soul and grant you a high place in your house where you can pray and plead for us all. Sitting in his Balcony in the last couple of years he always had an encouraging and good word with almost every passer by. Some days ago I was sitting with him and discussing the plans of the Comunidade with him. He always had a word off good advice for me. His reading of people was fantastic. He knew who would be true and loyal sons of Saligao and carry the burden for others.May your soul forever rest in peace. My heart goes out to Philoo and the rest o his family. May they accept this terrible loss with resignation and do Gods will. One day we will all have to follow him to our other home. I must share with you what he told me at our last meeting when he hobbled in to his room and brought an Examiner for me to read. He then told me when I thanked him, that this may be last time we meet.He had a premonition that his time had come to go to heaven. I chided him but he was firm. God has  way of telling those he loves that the call is coming. Lets all pray for this fine soul of Saligao and for the family he has left behind. Gd Bless Us all of Saligao.
Brig (Rtd) Ian da Costa.

My condolences again to all the family of Mr. Peter Bobo.

Was just going to add my tuppeny worth on reading Brig. Ian's mail when the fernandes mail came through.

Yesterday, mum was remembering & mentioned that whilst we as a family were in Goa on vacation, she & dad attended the wedding reception of Mr. & Mrs. Peter at their house - she mentioned the year as 1958.  She thinks that she had to climb a few stairs to get to the (hall) sitting room but then she might be mistaken since she is now 85. I, for one, have seen the stairs whilst passing by but have never climbed them.

So there must be a good many people in Saligao who have many good memories of people, places, events & it feels good to hear all this. Saligao comes alive on this Net.

Peter Bobo and my dad worked together in Qatar. When my mom went to Qatar for a year their house was close to Peter Bobo's and their two children Anu and Banu were with them as they were small and did not go to school. They were good neighbours and shared each other's company. My mom was very fond of Anu and Banu as I remember when she came back she would always talk about them for months together. They were also fond of her. Peter Bobo made a very interesting conversation when we met at the Saligao Institute and his company was always welcomed as his talk had humour. He was not bothered to wash dirty linen of other people . I had just to pass his gate of his house he would be sitting there and I had to climb up the stairs and sit and talk for hours together. He was not a regular visitor in the club but his one such visit was pleasent. His wife Philomen is a dynamic person. At Lourdes convent apart from teaching she was instrumental in training little kids for mandos. I think she used to train the children for Indian dances too for the annual day. Peter bobo was a prominent person for the serenade from Sonarbhatt to the church on 25th November . He had a nice tenor voice. he sang Obrillant during the procession in his tenor voice .He would say . " baba borim assat mure sogot ? " when I left saligao he was a bit sorry . Each time I met him he would say " baba amchem saligao kai borem kiteac munn soddlem re tumi ? ieat kednam tori amchi khobor gheunvk. " We will miss Peter Bobo when we visit that side. May God bless the family

Can kick myself. Wanted to go visit him, but missed him completely, as I was with friends in Mapusa. Just got the message at Mumbai international when I logged in to my e-mail. I used to visit him every time I was in Saligao, but missed him this time. Rip

Yes! I think almost everyone knew this nice man as Peter Bobo. Incidentally, we share the same birthday - March 20 - coming up soon; and always made a point of meeting and wishing each other well on that great day! I know his family will greatly miss celebrating it with him this year.

Our heartfelt condolences to the entire family. Anu and Banu, of course, were good friends of mine in those good old days at LCHS. However, we knew the entire family very well and want you to know that you are all in our thoughts and prayers at this very sad time.

My sincere condolences to Philomena and the rest of the family.I couldnt attend the funeral as I am not in Goa now.
It's sad that another valuable resident of Saligao has passed away.
Peter had so much knowledge and wisdom to share and I enjoyed sitting and chatting with him. He would always look for something to give me, a book ,a classical cd .a wall plaque, small things but his giving nature warmed my heart.
I will miss him.
Yvonne
