Hello Coaches,

I hope you are all ready for Saturday’s Subaru 7’s tournament at Alapocas Run State Park (Directions)

We have 31 teams in total participating in this years tournament. Brackets include Men's Collegiate, Women’s Open, U-19 Boys and Rookie Rugby (see attached for tournament pools and brackets). Saturday's weather looks to be in our favor (72 degrees, partly sunny). I have listed a number of key items for Saturday’s tournament below.
  • All teams are to wear rugby jerseys, no t-shirts with the exception of the Rookie Rugby teams.
  • Captains meeting at 9:15 am for all teams able to be present (except Rookie Rugby teams).
  • First games start at 9:50 am/Rookie Rugby games start at 11:50 am.
  • There is a state park fee for parking ($3.00 in state, and $6.00 out of state). Parking attendants will provide assistance.
  • If you have not paid your tournament entry fee, please pay on line today  http://www.derugbyfoundation.org/Sevens/Sevens-sign-up.php or please bring your payment with you in order to play your matches.
  • Local media will be present at the tournament again this year. Please be mindful of the State Park rules and regulations (Here).
Rugby Delaware is extremely excited for this year's Subaru 7’s and we are looking forward to seeing you all on Saturday.
If you have any last minute questions or concerns, please contact me Andy Newcombe at (302) 584-5999 or Bjorn Haglid (302) 540-7429
See you on Saturday.

Hi All,

I'm sorry to say that I have only received a few emails expressing interest in the Rugby Camp at East Stroudsburg University. So, at this point, I would say register on your own. If anyone's schedule changes and your son is available for camp, let me know and we may still be able to get a discount.

Thanks,
Rainbow

Hi All,

My name is Rainbow Shaw-Giaquinto and I am the parent of a freshman, Gabe Giaquinto.  After speaking with several other moms at the Rugby Picnic there seems to be some interest in the Rugby Camp at East Stroudsburg University, which is held in July. There are two camps, but Coach Wells recommends the Traditional Camp (15's) over the 7's. Plus, 15's is the only camp that offers a player discount, which is as follows:

5-9 players: $380 per player
10-14 players: $365 per player
15 or more: $350 per player

The 15's camp runs from Thursday, July 10th- Sunday, July 13th and the regular cost is $400.00 per player. If we have enough interest, Coach Wells would even consider asking Sallies to use a van for transportation, although that is not guaranteed.

This camp is not limited to high school athletes. If you have a graduating senior who is or who is considering playing in college, the camp offers a collegiate level of participation as well.

In order to get the discounted rate, however, we must register together as a team. I don't mind handling that process, but we should register soon. Please respond if your son is interested in attending camp at East Stroudsburg University in July. I can also be reached by cell, which is below.

Thanks,
Rainbow
