Hello everybody,

I hope everybody is doing well.  The summer is upon us, the seniors have graduated, and a few more exams need to be aced (or otherwise).  Then there is summer.

We had a fantastic season at all levels.  We developed and saw tremendous growth from all of our players and we achieved quite a bit of success.  I very much hope that we can continue to build upon it, and the best time to build is during the summer.

For those of you who are not living at the beach or are completely committed to other things, there are some very good opportunities out there to improve your game.

This does not just go out to the older guys, or to the "7's" guys, or to the experienced guys.  Anybody who has ANY time and interest should not be discouraged to fill the rugby void that resides in all of us.

Summer 7's
The Wilmington Colts is a high school aged club that is competing in 7's tournaments throughout the summer.  Summer 7's is a great chance to get out and learn and hone your skills w/o all of the intense commitment required during the regular season.  This is a supplement to your life, not a replacement of things you usually like to do during the summer.  If you are only around for one week or two then you are welcome to participate.  If you can only practice and never play in a tournament, you are welcome.  If you can make all of the practices and tournaments, of course, you are welcome.  If you are built like a Neanderthal w/ knuckles dragging and are slower than granny, you are welcome.  If your cleats are 4 sizes bigger than your feet, you are welcome.

If you fit any of these categories (or any category I did not mention) and are interested in getting involved, please contact either of the Amoroso's (emails are cc'd above).  The more the merrier.

Summer Camp
We notoriously do not have a very good showing at summer camps.  But every time a player does participate, great things happen.  We have at least 2, likely 3, committed to camps this summer and I really hope that more join the tiny band wagon of campers.  There are several camps out there and I am sure most are very good, but I personally endorse (and coach) one at East Stroudsburg U in the beginning of July.  I can speak to the fact that everybody I know who has gone has had a good, if not great, experience.  There are many players that have gone two, three, and even four years to this camp.  That should tell you about the campers' experience.

If you are interested in the ESU camp, please follow the link below.  If we get 5 players to go, there is a discount.  Another discount at 10 players, and so on.  Usually groups register together and get discounted immediately but if 5 from our team end up there, the discount will be made retroactively.

If you are interested in another camp, that is fine by me.  I just want to encourage you to broaden you rugby experience in any way possible.

Have a great summer everybody!  Good luck in college and everything else that is going on out there.  Keep in touch if anything interesting happens to you.  Unless it was illegal, then I do NOT want to know.

Chow,
