JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking an experienced Technical Solution Architect Senior / AMI Systems Specialist to provide technical leadership and application support for Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) systems. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in utility metering technologies, system integrations, architecture design, production support, and vendor management.
This role will work closely with business stakeholders, vendors, and technical teams to support and enhance AMI applications, drive operational excellence, and deliver innovative solutions across the AMI ecosystem.
Responsibilities:
- Lead application support for AMI systems including MAMS, ProField Encore (PFE), MDMS, and HES.
- Coordinate with vendors and business partners on release notes, upgrades, enhancements, and issue resolution.
- Collaborate with the AMI Run team to define and deliver monitoring tools, dashboards, and reports for production support.
- Plan roadmaps, assess technology components for vendor support and cybersecurity compliance, and ensure license compliance.
- Lead technical teams developing in-house applications and support implementation of vendor applications.
- Produce subsystem designs, end-to-end flow diagrams, use cases, APIs, modules, data models, and full SDLC documentation.
- Deliver value through iterative releases and frequent customer testing.
- Maintain project plans, report critical issues, and drive troubleshooting to resolution with stakeholders.
- Engage vendors and sponsors through structured status meetings and targeted technical discussions.
- Conduct incident triage, remediation, root cause analysis, and recommend preventive actions including HPI.
- Drive continuous improvement, holistic monitoring, and operational excellence processes.
- Provide guidance to employees and contractors, and support team upskilling aligned to organizational goals.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Expertise with AMI ecosystems and utilities platforms such as MAMS, PFE, MDMS, and HES.
- Proficiency in designing APIs, data models, and integration patterns across enterprise systems.
- Strong experience in production support, incident management, RCA, and preventive controls.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity compliance, vendor lifecycle management, and license governance.
- Ability to create SDLC artifacts including designs, flow diagrams, and test documentation, and to support iterative releases.
- Excellent stakeholder communication and vendor coordination skills.
- 7+ years in solution architecture, systems integration, or enterprise application support.
Preferred Skills:
- Utilities industry experience with AMI deployments and meter data flows.
- Experience with monitoring platforms, dashboards, and observability practices for production systems.
