JOB DESCRIPTION
The State of Texas is seeking an experienced QA Engineer Automated 3 to support database testing and quality assurance initiatives. The selected candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing automated testing solutions, ensuring database reliability, performance, integrity, and compliance with project requirements. This role requires strong expertise in test automation, database validation, defect management, and collaboration with technical and business teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop automated database testing scripts and frameworks.
- Create comprehensive test plans, test cases, and testing strategies.
- Prioritize testing scenarios and develop execution plans.
- Perform functional, regression, and performance testing.
- Validate database integrity, consistency, and reliability.
- Identify, document, track, and report defects throughout the testing lifecycle.
- Collaborate with developers, DBAs, and stakeholders to resolve issues.
- Prepare and maintain automated testing documentation and reports.
- Monitor database performance and recommend improvements.
- Participate in requirement analysis and ensure testing coverage aligns with business objectives.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience designing and executing automated database testing solutions.
- 8+ years of experience creating test plans, test cases, and test environments.
- 8+ years of experience performing functional, application, and regression testing.
- Strong knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and development methodologies.
- Ability to interpret requirements and update test documentation accordingly.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and reporting capabilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical teams.
- Experience managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong teamwork and customer-facing communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience with Texas DIR Project Delivery Framework and related templates.
- Familiarity with enterprise information architecture and information management methodologies.
- Understanding of current and future software technologies, infrastructure components, and software architecture.
